No high pressure to buy things that I did not want. I really like the dealership and the way they sell the Mini lifestyle. I feel like I belong to something unique. When I bring my car in to be washed, I am made to feel special. Seriously, who else would do that? Hats off to excellent service. Russ Kirby was fantastic and taught us much about the Mini and after an hour with him, she was seriously doubting the VW. Then we went and test drove the VW and we were back at the Mini store 5 minutes later. So much more to offer and so much more fun. And, Russ made the buying experience very comfortable. 4.0"Hunter, my Sales advisor was fantastic to work with. He made the process easy and fun! The only black mark on the process was the sales manager who dealt with pricing my trade in. He was making borderline non-sensical arguments as to why his price was what it was, and was not listening to the empirical evidence I brought to the table showing that there was a disconnect between what the vehicle is worth on the trade-in market and what he was willing to pay. At one point he implied that I lied about the condition of the car, so I walked through the "blind bid" form that I filled out line by line to prove to him that I did not in any way misrepresent the condition of the car (which he grudgingly agreed with me on). I felt patronized and was really very close to walking out of the dealership after my discussion with him. AGAIN, these comments are in NO WAY a reflection on my sales advisor, but on the manager I dealt with regarding the trade-ins. I'll say it one more time, my Sales Advisor was great! I was coming to Plano from Austin (3+ hours away) and Hunter kept me in the loop about the car, including sending me cell phone pix from nearly every angle when I requested more photos." 5.0"Last year, I was laid off from my job and had to move back to Texas. I managed to find work after a few months but the pay wasn't anywhere near what I had been making. I decided to go to Sewell MINI of Plano and ask what my options might be to get a lower car payment. I was greeted at the door, with a smile, by Ben Anderson. I explained to him my situation, what I was looking to accomplish and even how much I loved my current car, a MINI Clubman. He introduced me to Mike Niksich and they immediately went to work trying to figure out what they could do to help me. Mike crunched numbers while Ben showed me some cars and asked more questions about what I was looking for. It was obvious they weren't just trying to sell me a car, they were trying to help me. Ben showed me some other MINIs, asked all of the right questions and made me feel comfortable (which is a rare feeling at a car dealership). Mike came back with my options and we agreed I would return the next afternoon and they could show me specific cars that would fit my needs. I returned the next day to the same smiles and Ben showed me my best options. I picked the car that I preferred and he went back to work on the numbers. He worked tirelessly to get me in the payment range I had originally requested. At one point he could tell I was starting to worry and he looked at me and said ?Mandy, this is your car. You're leaving in this car today. Your payment is where you need it. Don't worry about it.? A few minutes later he came back and shook my hand. It was a done deal. Mike came up and patted me on the back and said ?I knew we could help you!? I let him know I'd be back to Sewell in 3 years for a new Paceman and he smiled. Most dealerships are full of high pressure, fast-talking salesman who pretend to give a crap about you until you sign on the dotted line but the people at Sewell MINI of Plano, especially Ben Anderson and Mike Niksich, are genuinely good people who just want the customer to walk out of the place satisfied. Not only with how they were treated but with the deal they got. Ben and Mike (and from what I can tell everyone else) at Sewell MINI of Plano are stellar people. I've already recommended, to friends, family and even strangers, that they buy a MINI and buy it from Sewell MINI in Plano. 0.5"The 25K service stated (brakes needed) was not done. They reprogrammed apparently my computer and I lost navigation my Sirrus radio and everything else was different. I only discovered this after I got home to read the document. I ws called by Mini to ask how the service was and told them as well. I was told the service manager would call and this did not happen! I finally called and was informed of the computer update and was told to come in and they would fix my program. I am physician and live 15 miles from the service so its not that easy. I am going to go back but need to leave town. Very unprofessional and very disappointing. This could have been preventedted by doing their due diligence and checked the workings of my program!!!" That was not the case when I called to say that a "trouble" light had just been activated on my dashboard. I spoke to Clint Fox who made arrangements for me to come in immediately and had a loan car available as soon as I got there. However, I am very unhappy with a vehicle made in the past 20 years that has had so many problems before 70,000 miles: a cracked thermostat mount, a transmission module, and whoever heard of an engine that needed its pan dropped that soon! Thanks to the intervention of MINI/Dallas on the kaput transmission we are still driving the vehicle (and otherwise are in love with it.) But we have told friends interested in purchasing a MINI to beware, and have urged those with newer MINI's to take the extended warranty package due to the many problems we have had. My biggest issue is I still continue to have some sort of service done on my vehicle that really isn't routine. I've had several parts replaced, thankfully under warranty, and my driving is pretty mundane enough to not warrant this type of work, I think anyway. I hope I don't have a problem vehicle after my warranty expires at a 100, 000 miles. We really enjoy driving this car, but my wife has already mentioned several times that we won't buy another one. I don't know how many times I've rammed my knees into the steering wheel because my seat was moved up. It's not as annoying if it's too far back because at least I won't take out my knees, but seriously? how far are you driving the car that you really need to move the seat? Can't you just drive it uncomfortably for a few minutes so that I don't have to move my seat (height, distance from the wheel, and posture) and my steering wheel." I took my Mini in for a coolant leak and two NHV issues, and ended up with a timing chain job that was not completed as per the tech story. 3.0"I went in because my maintenance light was on and I thought I needed an oil change. It turned out I didn't need an oil change but there were some recall things they needed on work on. Plus I keep getting a notification that there is a light out or something. Everything was all done in 2.5 hrs or so. I still need an oil change so I have to come back for that. About 15min later when getting coffee the light reflector under my liscence plate fell off. It looked cracked. Like it was cracked when putting it back on. Now I'm going back this next sat. 4.0"The whole experience was fine, but $30 seemed a little pricey just to rotate the tires compared to other places. Other than the $$$, I would give it 5 stars. (My whole reason for buying the Mini was to save money) I went ahead and did it because I was already getting the car worked on, but I probably wouldn't do it again. Jeremy met me at the front door because I had a 7:30AM appointment, greeted me, asked me to walk around the vehicle and go over any other issues that I had experienced. He was very receptive to me explaining my issues with the car and promised to have them inspected. He personally lead me to the waiting area, instead of just showing me where it was and checked on me twice during the service event. The waiting area was very pleasant and functional. The Wi-Fi enabled me to keep working while my car was being serviced and the coffee was delicious. (supposedly a misunderstanding). before this service we stopped taking the mini to the dealer because we were very disappointed to have to pay for something that is not well made. liquid leaked from the screw hole in the bottom of the cup holders down into the shifter mechanism. Cup holders are not water tight and sit squarely over the shifter (cold beverages sweat )so the transmission malfunctioned in my Mini. Dealership pulled out shifter mechanism and found it filled with some liquid. I believe we're not the first very disappointed with this problem because I read a lot of blogs discussing about this problem.
